How can I be reborn? I am already old.
How can I enter a second time into my mother’s womb? (2)
What should I do to be born again?
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (3)
Where is my spirit that I can see it?
How can I know if my spirit is poor?
Your teaching is still ambiguous to me.
“Flesh gives birth to flesh,
but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.” (4)
Our body came from the earth, I know;
our soul came from the breath of the Spirit; (5)
but your teaching is still difficult to understand.
“Aren’t you Israel’s teacher?
Don’t you understand what I say to you?” (6)
Aren’t you a faithful Pharisee?
You are a good teacher and a good religious person,
but you are blind and senseless in the spiritual world.
“You should not be surprised at my saying,
You must be born again.” (7)
You will clearly understand this.
You will be aware of your true self in spirit.
